ZIMBABWE SAVE VALLEY

Geographical position

Save Valley is situated in the southeastern lowveld of Zimbabwe, about 150 km south of Mutare. The size of the concession is about 340 000 hectares. See map attached.

Trophies available

We will focus mainly on the Elephant, leopard, buffalo and in addition to the usual big game, we can take, if you wish, anteater, civet, genet, African wild cat, mongoose, porcupine and ratel.

Accommodation

The accommodation consists of a luxury tent-camp with bathroom and other facilities.

Arms ammunition and hunting conditions

The legal minimum caliber for Buffalo and Elephant is a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum. For Elephant a .416 caliber as a minimum would be more preferable. Hunting is done by walking and stalking.

Climate and vegetation

In the lowland areas (including the Save valley), the climate is typically tropical with high temperatures and no real cool season. The best time to travel is from April to October.

During the months of April to September, you can wear light clothing during the day and a light jacket at night. Be sure to take long-sleeved shirts to protect yourself against mosquitoes at night around the fire. Do not forget a pair of well-worn boots, a hat and sunblock.

This is a Malaria area. Please take precaution. Insect repellent is strongly advisable especially during the rainy season. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is compulsory.
