Don’t be surprised to encounter herds of up to a hundred elephant and buffalo. Including healthy numbers of sable, greater kudu, chobe bushbuck, impala, sharper grysbok and warthog. Livingstone eland and waterbuck also roam this area and exceptional trophies are available. An excellent area for buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard and plains game.
Large nile crocodile and hippo are abundant and offer exceptional trophies.

INFORMATION
CLIMATE AND VEGETATION
Temperatures vary from 20°C to 35°C with fair humidity. The heat reaches its peak in November, which is also the last hunting month. The vegetation around the southwest banks of Cahora Bassa is characterized by a mix of savanna and woodland ecosystems. The area typically features miombo woodlands, which are dominated by tree species such as Brachystegia, Julbernardia, and Isoberlinia. Closer to the water, you might find riparian vegetation, including reeds and other water-loving plants, which thrive along the reservoir’s edges. The combination of these ecosystems creates a diverse habitat that supports the region’s rich fauna. This blend of vegetation not only contributes to the area’s ecological balance but also offers a picturesque landscape.
TROPHIES AVAILABLE
Buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, sable, lichtenstein hartebeest, livingstone eland, waterbuck, chobe bushbuck, sharpes grysbok, impala and greater kudu. Large nile crocodile and hippo are abundant and offer very good trophies.
ACCOMMODATION
Basic tented chalets with on-suite bathrooms. Rooms and laundry are serviced daily.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
This is a Malaria area. Please take precaution. Insect repellent is strongly advisable during the warmer months. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is compulsory.
FIREARMS AND HUNTING CONDITIONS
The recommended minimum caliber for buffalo is a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum. Hunting is done by walking and stalking.
CLOTHING AND GEAR
During the months of September to November light clothing can be worn during the day and a light jacket at night. Please bring long-sleeve shirts because it’s good protection against mosquitoes at night around the campfire. Do not forget your pair of well-worn boots, a hat and sunscreen.
