LUANGWA VALLEY | ZAMBIA
Geographical position
The concession is situated in the Luangwa Valley which is in the Eastern Province of Zambia. This valley and the Luangwa River which flows through it, form one of the southern legs of the Great African Rift Valley. The concession is approximately 1 hour by 4 x 4 from the Mfuwe Airport. Please refer to the map provided.
Trophies available
We will mainly focus on Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Hippopotamus, Nile Crocodile, Greater Kudu, Cookson's Wildebeest, Livingstone Eland, Lichtenstein Hartebeest, Chobe Bushbuck, Bushpig, Common Duiker, Sharpe's Grysbok, Waterbuck, Puku, Warthog, Impala, Spotted Hyena and Yellow Baboon.
Accommodation
The accommodation consists of a well-equipped tent-camp with bathroom and other basic facilities.
Arms ammunition and hunting conditions
The recommended minimum caliber for Buffalo and other dangerous game is a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum. Hunting is done by walking and stalking.
Climate and vegetation
Temperatures vary from 20°C to 35°C with low humidity. The heat reaches its peak in November, which is also the last hunting month. The region is home to an abundance of animal and plant life. The biotope varies between riverine forest, bush, lagoons and savannah.
Clothing and gear
During the months of September to November light clothing can be worn during the day and a light jacket at night. Please bring long-sleeve shirts because it's good protection against mosquitoes at night around the campfire. Do not forget your pair of well-worn boots, a hat and sunscreen. Health and safety
This is a Malaria area. Please take precaution. Insect repellent is strongly advisable during the warmer months. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is compulsory.
